As a copywriter and creative strategist, I work on movie marketing, as well as with brands across Entertainment, Sports and Consumer Products.
Recently, I served as Lead Writer on a pitch to Facebook Watch to launch their unscripted series, Stephen Curry Versus The Game. My concept, “Ruin The Promo”, together with strategy and sample creative, helped my agency win the campaign. I subsequently conceptualized and scripted every phase of the campaign across A/V, digital, experiential, and OOH. Versus went on to become the most-viewed season on television in Facebook Watch history. The same agency brought me in as Lead Writer for their pitch to launch Facebook Watch series, Limetown. Again, we won the pitch and I led writing for the duration of the campaign.
In the past two years, I have expanded into Gaming and Mobile Gaming. My creative and strategy led to impressive sales of titles including Rainbow Siege Six, Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, Scrabble Go, and The Walking Dead, for which I helped develop actual game-play.
Some of my favorite projects involve Sports brands. Passionate and knowledgeable, I’m able to write authentically in a way that connects with fans. High-profile projects under my belt for FOX Sports, FOX Deportes, EA Sports, LA Dodgers, the NHL, and of course, Facebook Watch’s Stephen Curry Versus The Game.
I work on a lot of different content, but I’m also versatile when it comes to assignment type. Copy-heavy promos, brand films, director’s treatments, tag-lines and naming explorations; I know how to deliver with speed and a wide array of options. And with a gift for wit and humor (you can’t teach it, people), I’m many of my clients’ go-writer for breakthrough special shoot concepts. Recent successes include teasers, announcements, and image campaigns for Knives Out, Westworld, VEEP, The Equalizer 2, Snowfall, Jack Ryan, Mayan MC, and Younger.
I believe that to be great, a copywriter has to exercise other writing muscles. While always prioritizing my clients, I have taken improv and sketch writing, written TV and film projects, and sold scripted and unscripted series to National Lampoon and The Weinstein Company. To help pitch projects, I’ve used my marketing background to make trailers, sizzles, and most recently, a short film. For the short, I cast actors, scouted locations, assembled a 30-person crew, and shot over one breakneck, sleepless weekend. Then came post: directing editors, sound mixers, composers, and colorists, until we finally locked final cut. This ambitious project showed me my ability to lead a long-term collaborative effort, and wear more hats than just Writer.
I love being a copywriter, and look forward to bringing all my experience —in advertising and outside of it — to work for your agency.
